Limited Time Free Parking Coupons
Eligible users:
- Qualified part-time appointees
- Current office bearers of Alumni Associations
- Visitors on business
- Visitors to campus residents
- A maximum of two Limited Time Free Parking Coupons can be used for the same visit
- Overnight parking is not permitted for visitor vehicles (except guest vehicles parking at the carpark outside University Guest House and visitor vehicles within the area of residence.)
- Qualified part-time appointees can obtain through Units/Departments an appropriate number of Limited Time Free Parking Coupons
- The Alumni Affairs Office is responsible for distributing Limited Time Free Parking Coupons to current office bearers of Alumni Associations (each of them may be given up to 40 coupons each year)
- Faculties/Departments/residents may issue Limited Time Free Parking Coupons to visitors
- All units authorized to issue Limited Time Free Parking Coupons must complete the Coupons Usage Record sheets provided by the Security Office for audit purposes
Pre-paid Parking Coupons
Eligible users:
- Postgraduates/part-time students recommended by Heads of Department/Unit
- May buy an appropriate number of Pre-paid Parking Coupons ($20 each for parking up to 5 hours)
- About 20% more than the total number of teaching days on campus in the current term
- No more than two coupons can be used for the same visit
- No overnight parking is permitted

Parking Labels
University Parking Labels
Only one label may be issued to each staff member/eligible person. Each label can list up to but not more than two vehicle registration numbers. The vehicle must be either a private car or a motorcycle. No commercial goods vehicle will be issued with a label.
As per resolution of University’s Administrative and Planning Committee (AAPC) made on 12 September 2023, staff parking labels (A, AR & E) will be subject to an annual label fee at HK$1,500 from Label Year (2003/24) onwards with concessions provided in the first three years as per below table:

*The fees will be collected from label applicants at the time of renewal of label or upon new application by way of deduction of salary, or payment in cash for those who do not have a payroll account. Labels for motor-cycles will be charged at half. No fee will be levied on staff drivers with physical disability. Labels with a validity period less than a full year will be charged according to the number of quarters covered.
Label A
Eligible holders:
- Full-time appointees on Terms (A), (B), (C), (HA-equivalent), and equivalent terms (including those on no-pay leave or on term secondment from the University)
- Fractional-time appointees on Terms (A/HA) & equivalent terms
- Senior College Tutors
- Full-time staff of Hong Kong Institute of Biotechnology (HKIB)
- Such other cases as approved by AAC
- Label holders must have a valid driving licence
- Vehicles registered in name of label holder/spouse
- Parking in all carparks except those designated
- No overnight parking on campus

Eligible holders (E1):
- Resident appointees with an AR label may apply for one extra E1 label for use by family members residing on campus
- Resident appointees without a valid driving licence but with cars driven by family members residing on campus
- Vehicles registered in name of label holder/spouse
- Parking other than Cat. I carparks and those designated
- Overnight parking is permitted in the area of residence
Eligible holders (E2):
- Non-resident full time appointees without a driving licence
- Vehicles registered in name of label holder/spouse
- Parking other than Cat. I carparks and those designated
- No overnight parking on campus
- As per AAPC’s resolution on 12 September 2023, apart from renewal of existing E2 labels, no new applications for E2 labels will be accepted from Label Year (2023/24) onwards.

- Emeritus Professors
- Label holders shall not be active staff of University
- Vehicles registered in name of label holder/spouse/registered company
- Labels issued by Communications & Public Relations Office
- Parking in all carparks except those designated
- No overnight parking on campus

- Resident disabled undergraduates/postgraduates holding a proof of disability from government and a valid driving licence
- Resident undergraduates on special and compassionate grounds, as recommended by the Office of Student Affairs or the College Deans of Students’ Office and approved by AAC
- Vehicles registered in name of label holder/spouse/close family member
- Parking other than Cat. I carparks and those designated
- Overnight parking is permitted in the area of hostel

- With exceptional justifications (e.g. secondary duty as a College Resident Tutor provided with a hostel room)
