Provisions on the Use of CUHK’s E-Charge Facilities
For Exclusive Use by Pre-registered CUHK Labelled Cars
The use of E-Charge facilities on CUHK campus is restricted to the electric cars (registered as E-Charge members holding EV-Link) of staff, residents, students and departments / units of CUHK issued with valid University’s parking labels and having pre-registered with the Security Office.
Terms & Conditions on the Use of the E-Charge Facilities
(i) The use of E-Charge facilities on the campus is free of charge until further notice. Each pre-registered car is entitled to one charging per day up to a maximum duration of 3-hour. No overnight charging or parking (between 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.) is allowed.
(ii) Upon completion of charging, after the lapse of 30-minute grace period, a post-charging service fee at $50 per hour up to 6 hours will be deducted from the EV-Link if the charging space is still occupied by the car. Continued remaining at the charging space thereafter would be subject to impoundment.
(iii) The use of E-Charge facilities is primarily on a reservation basis via the given APP. Real time on-line reservation (when un-occupied spaces are available as shown on APP) can be made and the space will be reserved up to 30 minutes. (Note: Failing to turn-up repeatedly after a reservation is made would lead to temporary suspension of eligibility for use of the facilities.)
(iv) On the other hand, if there are un-occupied charging spaces which have not been reserved at the time of visit (as shown on the APP or charger’s display), they can be used on a first-come-first serve basis. Queuing for use is not provided due to the layout constraint of the carpark and the need to avoid obstruction to other vehicles.
(v) Unauthorized usage of facilities / occupation of spaces would be subject to impoundment of car without warning. The impoundment fee and the storage fee per day thereafter is HK$320 each.
(vi) The right to use E-Charge facilities on the campus is limited to the pre-registered car displaying a valid University’s parking label and is not transferrable to other car. Violation of the terms and conditions could result in the termination of its right.
(vii) CUHK reserves the right to modify, amend and suitably enforce the terms and conditions as necessary.
Application for Pre-Registration with Security Office
(i) The ‘Use of CUHK’s E-Charge Facilities’ application form can be obtained from the Control Room of Security Office or downloaded from its website.
(ii) The applicant is required to submit the duly completed application form together with a copy of the valid vehicle document (showing the car as being an electric vehicle) in person at the Control Room or by mail to Security Office.
(iii) Upon receipt and verification of the application, Security Office will send the information to Hong Kong EV Power Ltd. for confirmation of membership and further processing. The applicant will be advised via email by Security Office once the campus charging account activation is completed.
Disclaimer by CUHK
CUHK shall not be liable for any loss or damage to the person or property of any person caused by any other person or by any equipment used in the operation of the carpark. The owners and/or users of any vehicles parked in the carpark shall be solely liable for any arising incidents thereat.
